Nars Cosmetics provides samples of foundation cosmetic to help customers match the foundation to their skin type. Mismatches still occur. Nars needs a better way to help their customers. My research showed that customers don’t like to use the foundation samples. Their main concern was hygienic, since many fingers had touched the samples. In addition, the samples didn’t include different types of foundation, such as liquid or powder. The solution: I created a foundation finder App, installed on a touchscreen at the foundation section of the cosmetics store. Customers can take selfies and scan foundation shades of different types to find their match. The App also explains how to apply the foundation and what discounts are available.
